Somalia: Explosion targetting guest house claims multiple fatalities in Bardera early March 14

A suicide bombing targeted a guest house in Bardera early March 14. The blast reportedly damaged the nearby Bardera hospital. At least three soldiers have been reportedly killed, and five other persons injured, including the Governor of the Gedo Province. Al Shabaab has reportedly claimed the attack.

Heightened security is likely in the impacted area over the coming hours. Localized ground travel disruptions are possible.

Bardera is 170 km (100 miles) southwest of Baidoa.
