UK: Activists to demonstrate nationwide April 30

Immigration activists to protest in cities across the UK April 30. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Immigration activists plan to protest across the UK on April 30. The purpose of the demonstrations is to denounce a bill authorizing depotations to Rwanda. It is unclear how many participants may attend. Planned gatherings include:

  • Brighton: Brighton Train Station from 17:00.

  • Bristol: The Fountains in Bristol City Center (between Anchor Road and Broad Quay) from 17:30.

  • Cardiff: Home Office on Newport Road from 17:00.

  • Glasgow: Home Office on Brand Street from 17:30.

  • London: Lunar House on Wellesley Road in Croydon 16:30-19:00.

  • Oxford: Carfax Tower on Queen Street from 18:00.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites. Unscheduled protests are possible nationwide. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the demonstration areas. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
