Authorities in Guinea-Bissau extend the COVID-19 state of calamity nationwide until Oct. 26.

Officials have extended the COVID-19 state of calamity until Oct. 26. Associated measures are listed below.
Domestic Measures
Movement restrictions into and out of Bissau, Safim, and Prabis remain in force. Essential service workers are exempt from the mandate.
Facemasks are mandatory on public transport.
Markets are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. They can open 05:00-18:00 Monday-Friday. Restaurants with inside seating may open until 22:00.
Restrictions on public gatherings remain in effect. Social, cultural, and political events are allowed; however, they must not exceed 25 people.
Nightclubs and bars remain closed.
International Travel Restrictions
Passenger flights are operating, as are humanitarian, medical, and cargo flights. All incoming travelers must produce a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before travel to be granted entry into Guinea-Bissau. If someone on board a flight to Guinea-Bissau is thought to have COVID-19, travelers may be required to isolate at one location for 14 days. Travelers not in possession of a COVID-19 test certificate may also face a self-isolation period. Land and sea borders are open.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
