One runway of Tokyo-Haneda International Airport (HND) was temporarily closed on Tuesday, September 5, after a Japan Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing following a collision with a bird. One engine caught fire, which prompted a grass field next to the runway to also briefly catch fire during the landing. No major delays were reported, but minor residual disruptions at HND are possible in the coming hours.
