Authorities announce Independence Day road closures in Beirut for November 22; anticipate widespread traffic disruptions

Beirut will host Independence Day celebrations, including a military parade down Charles Helou avenue, on Thursday, November 22. Authorities have announced Independence Day road closures in the capital city beginning at 05:00 (local time) on Wednesday, November 21. These closures include:
- Iben Sina street to Fakhreddine road
- On General Foaad Chebab road between the Borj al-Ghazal and the tunnel entrance off Fakhreddine road
- The Salim Salam overpass to the tunnel entrance off Fakhreddine road
- Charles Helou avenue
- Rafic El Hariri road to the tunnel entrance off Fakhreddine road
Additionally, on-street parking will be restricted on most roads in the city-center beginning on Wednesday at 21:00 through November 22.
