A winter storm, named "Miriam," is forecast to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and some snowfall to Lebanon through Thursday, January 17, with the fiercest weather expected late evening and early morning (local time) on Tuesday, January 15, and Wednesday, January 16. Wind gusts of up to 100 km/h (60 mph) are possible along the coast along with a high storm surge. Heavy rain is expected with snow at higher elevations. Flooding and associate transportation disruptions are possible and power disruptions cannot be ruled out.
Context
"Miriam" follows shortly after winter storm "Norma" hit the country earlier this month.
