Netherlands: Track maintenance around Schiphol Airport January 17-21

Train tracks to undergo maintenance operations around Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) January 17-21; budget additional time to reach airport

Warning

Event

Train tracks are scheduled to undergo maintenance around Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) from Thursday, January 17, until 05:15 (local time) on Monday, January 21. No trains will run on the Schiphol Airport - Leiden route over this period, as well as on the Amsterdam Central Station - Rotterdam Central Station route. Also, on Saturday, January 19, and Sunday, January 20, no trains will run on the Amsterdam Sloterdijk/Amsterdam Zuid - Schiphol route, nor on the Diemen Zuid - Duivendrecht route. While trains will still run to AMS on Thursday and Friday, buses will replace trains to the airport over the weekend.

AMS authorities have cautioned travelers to budget an additional 15-45 minutes to reach the airport and factor in additional transfers, bus transportation, and the potential necessity of taking alternate routes.

Advice

Individuals traveling via AMS are advised to monitor developments to the situation, budget additional time to reach the airport, and seek alternative transit arrangements and routes, if necessary.
