The Upaban Express derailed on Sunday evening (local time), June 23, outside Baramchal (Sylhet division) in northeastern Bangladesh resulting in five deaths and injuring more than 200 others. Two coaches fell into a canal near the Baramchal Railway Station. Emergency personnel are responding to the incident and localized disruptions along with regional rail cancelations are expected in the coming hours and days.
