The Canadian government confirmed on Wednesday, June 5, that Canadian nationals were abducted in the city of Kumasi (Ashanti region) on Monday, June 3. A Global Affair Canada spokesperson did not confirm any other details regarding the case; however, local media sources claim that two Canadians were kidnapped while leaving their apartment. An investigation into the incident is going and Ghanaian police officers are searching for a vehicle allegedly used in the abduction. Details are still emerging.
