Singapore to rehearse National Day parade weekly through August 3; traffic congestion and aerial flyovers expected

Singapore will hold weekly rehearsals for the upcoming National Day parade on Saturdays through Saturday, August 3. National Day celebrations will be held at the Padang, in front of the National Gallery in central Singapore on Friday, August 9. Rehearsals will involve road closures across central Singapore from Suntec City to the Fullerton Hotel and from Bayfront Avenue to North Bridge Road. Nicoll Highway and Republic Avenue will also be fully or partially closed. Severe congestion is expected in the vicinity. Aerial flyovers will also be held over the island.

National Day is held annually on August 9. This year, official celebrations have moved from The Float @ Marina Bay to the Padang by the National Gallery.
