South Korean military reports two unidentified projectiles were fired into the East Sea from South Hamgyon province on August 24

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) reported that two unidentified projectiles were fired into the East Sea from North Korea during the early morning hours (local time) of Saturday, August 24. According to initial reports, the projectiles were launched near Sondok (South Hamgyong province). Further details regarding the incident have not been released.

Similar North Korean launches are possible over the coming days.  

Context

North Korea has conducted at least five missile tests since July 25.
