CAR: Opposition march scheduled in Bangui September 30

Opposition coalition calls for a demonstration in Bangui on September 30; heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions expected

The E Zingo Biani opposition coalition has called for a march in Bangui on Monday, September 30, to demand the resignation of President Faustin-Archange Touadéra among other grievances. Participants plan to gather at the Place des Nations Unies on Barthelemy Boganda Avenue, and then march to the city center. Organizers did not immediately announce a meeting time.

A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are expected along the march route. Counterprotests are possible. Clashes between security forces and protesters are also possible.
