CAR: Protest over Franc currency zone and French influence in Bangui September 14

Civil society group Urgence Panafricaniste has called for a protest to be held in Bangui on Saturday, September 14, to denounce the use of the CFA franc currency and denounce what they perceive as persisting French influence over its former colonies. Protesters are expected to gather at 14:30 (local time) at the 20 000 places stadium.

A heightened security presence along with localised transportation disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the protests.
