Air quality reaches unhealthy levels in Dhakka as of November 5, situation expected to continue over the coming days

As of Monday, November 4, hazardous air quality was recorded in Dhaka, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading peaking above 250 in the area of Sangsad Bhaban. On Tuesday, November 5, an AQI of 117 was recorded in the city at around 15:00 (local time). Unhealthy air quality is forecast to affect the capital at least through Monday, November 11.

An AQI reading of 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 moderate, and 101-200+ unhealthy.

Individuals present in Dhaka are advised to monitor the situation, limit outdoor activities until the situation normalizes, and wear N95 rated masks as a protection.
