Students take to the streets in Bogota on November 14; more protests possible in the coming days

Students have continued in protest in Bogota on Thursday, November 14, to denounce corruption with public education budgets, and to demand explanations about the scandal. Students blocked the main Carrera Septima road during their protest, which prompted a police presence. The first incidents of clashes in the peaceful, though disruptive protests were registered on Thursday.

Further related protests are likely to occur in the coming several days and weeks. Protests will also likely take place on Thursday, November 21, during the national strike. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected near all protests.
