Unidentified gunmen killed a national guard agent and injured four others in a shooting in Unión de Tula (Jalisco state) on Monday, June 29. The incident occurred at 18:00 (local time) in the vicinity of the Lagunillas area when the assailants fired on security forces before being repelled. The attackers subsequently fled the scene, and police operations have been launched in the area.

A heightened security presence is anticipated in the area in the near term. Further such attacks cannot be ruled out.
