An explosion took place at the Pallabi police station compound on Wednesday, July 29, which resulted in at least five people injured, including four police officers and a civilian. Officers at the police station were trying to defuse an improvised explosive device (IED) which had been recovered earlier during an operation in Pallabi's Kalshi area, which resulted in the device detonating in the station. During the earlier operation, three suspects were arrested carrying weapons and the IED and brought to the police station. The injured have all been transferred to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Residual disruptions in the vicinity of the incident are possible over the coming hours.
