Iraq: Reports of rocket fire in the vicinity of Baghdad August 14
Reports of three rockets fired on Baghdad International Airport on August 14; further attacks possible over the near term

Local intelligence and military sources have reported that three Katyusha rockets landed in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport (BGW) on Friday, August 14. Initial reports indicate that the projectiles were launched from Radwaniyah, west of Baghdad city. It is also indicated that the target of the attack was a military base attached to the airport that houses US forces. No casualties have been reported and no group has claimed immediate responsibility for the attack.
Similar attacks targeting the vicinity of BGW are possible over the near term.

The last indirect fire attack in Baghdad was recorded on Tuesday, August 11, and was claimed by pro-Iranian Shia militia.
