Flooding has killed at least 22 people and left four others missing nationwide as of Friday, August 14. National media has reported that nearly 40,000 hectares of crops have been damaged and nearly 17,000 homes destroyed or inundated, together with damages to roads, bridges, and railways. Areas most affected by flooding were Kimhwa, Cholwon, Hoeyang, and Changdo counties in Kangwon province, as well as Unpha and Jangphung counties in North Hwanghae province.
Further floods and associated damages and disruptions are likely over the near term.
