Women’s rights organizations plan nationwide protests on September 28; avoid all demonstrations as a precaution

Several women's rights organizations have called for a day of protests to be held across the country on Monday, September 28, to demand the legalization of abortion nationwide. Demonstrations should be expected in urban centers across the country; some of the locations include (all times local):
- Aguascalientes: March from the state's Attorney General's office to Exedra at 19:30
- Cancún: Rally at Malecon Tajamar at 17:00
- Ciudad Juarez: March to Parque Borunda at 17:00
- Durango: Rally outside the State's Congress at 18:00
- Guadalajara: March from Monumento a la Madre to the Jalisco State Congress at 15:00
- Hermosillo: Rally outside Museo y Biblioteca UNISON at 16:00
- Pachuca: Rally at Reloj Monumental at 16:00
- Oaxaca: March throughout the city starting at Fuente de las 8 Regiones at 16:00
- Villahermosa: Rally at Parque Juarez at 16:00
- Playa del Carmen: Rally at Plaza 28 de Julio from 17:00
- Puebla: Outside of the State's Congress at 17:00
Additional demonstrations are possible in other urban centers, including Mexico City. A heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transport are to be expected in the vicinity of the demonstrations. Clashes between security forces and protesters are possible.
