Iraq: Explosion reported near Baghdad International Airport Dec. 12; no damages or casualties reported

An explosion has been reported in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport (BGW) early Dec. 12. There have been no reports of casualties, nor have there been reports of disruptions at BGW. The cause of the blast, which reportedly occurred near a military position, is unclear.

Security forces will almost certainly deploy to the impact site in the coming hours. Ground travel disruptions are likely.
