Authorities in Cote d'Ivoire have announced an eight-day national mourning period from March 12 through March 19 following the death of Prime Minister Hamed Bakayoko March 10. Flags will be flown at half-mast, and government office and business closures are possible nationwide.

Commemorative events and associated road closures are also possible nationwide during the mourning period, especially in Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, and Seguela. Unofficial events and gatherings are also possible during this period. A heightened security force presence is likely near official events. Public transport disruptions are possible through March 19, as are disruptions to government services.

Remain respectful of local sensitivities during the national mourning period. Confirm all business appointments, as well as travel and hotel reservations. Plan for transport delays, especially if traveling in Abidjan from March 12.
