Officials in Wallis and Futuna are imposing territorywide lockdown measures following the discovery of several additional COVID-19 cases. The restrictions were imposed March 9 and are set to continue until at least 0500 March 23. All nonessential movement is banned. Residents are to remain inside their homes unless caring for elderly or disabled relatives, purchasing food or other essential supplies, or working in emergency services and other essential industries. Officials have also suspended all passenger flights for the duration of the lockdown orders.
