Kyrgyzstan: Maintenance work to disrupt road and rail traffic through Boom Gorge April 19-23
Road closure in Boom Gorge, Kyrgyzstan, April 19-23 to prompt road and rail disruptions; seek alternative routes.
Event
Transport authorities in Kyrgyzstan will partially block sections of the A-365, as well as rail traffic, through the Boom Gorge April 19-23 to facilitate maintenance work. The gorge is one of the few major routes connecting the capital, Bishkek, with the southern part of the country. Alternative routes are limited; moderate delays to overland transportation are therefore likely, which will impact freight delivery schedules. Further maintenance works could cause short-term disruptions in the Boom Gorge in the coming weeks.
Advice
Consider alternative routes, such as the A-367, and allow additional time for travel. Plan accordingly for possible supply chain disruptions from commercial trucking and rail freight delivery if routing shipments through the Boom Gorge.
