Activists plan to protest in Welkom, Free State Province, May 31 to call for the resignation of Executive Mayor of the Matjhabeng Local Municipality, Nkosinjani Speelman. Speelman is accused of not providing sufficient levels of service delivery. Protesters will gather at the Thabong Community Center from 11:00 before marching to the Matjhabeng Municipality offices in Welkom’s central business district (CBD) at 14:00. The street march will proceed along Constantia Street, Koppie Alleen Road, and Stateway Street.
