Authorities will likely maintain increased security in southwestern Kabul through at least early June 4 following two deadly blasts in the area which occurred on June 3. The first explosion occurred on Chahar Qala Road in Police District (PD) 6 around 13:45, destroying one vehicle, killing at least four people, and injuring four others. Several hours later, another blast destroyed a vehicle in the Kot-e-Sangi area of PD5, killing at least four people and injuring five others. Both explosions were apparently the result of improvised explosive devices (IED) attached to targeted vehicles; two similar bombings occurred in a nearby section of Kabul's PD3 on June 1. Casualty counts from the bombings may rise. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Numerous security personnel will likely remain deployed at the incident locations in the coming hours. Security forces may set up pedestrian and vehicle checkpoints in parts of western Kabul, possibly prompting localized ground transportation disruptions.

Avoid the incident areas as a precaution. Carry personal identification documents. Follow all instructions from security personnel. Allow additional time to reach destinations near the incident location.
