Protests have been ongoing since June 8. Clashes between protesters and security personnel occurred June 8 when residents held a protest march; at least three people were killed and dozens of others wounded. Additional protests are possible in the coming days. The largest gatherings are likely outside the Badakhshan Governor’s Office. Bigger gatherings will probably involve hundreds of people.
