Bahamas eases COVID-19-related restrictions, including curfews, on a number of islands as of June 28; entry restrictions remain in place.
Event
As of June 28, the government of the Bahamas has relaxed select COVID-19-related curfews and other restrictions; measures vary between the islands. Restrictions have been eased for larger gatherings and other events for vaccinated individuals on a number of islands.
Enhanced Local Measures
Existing curfew times for the islands listed below are as follows until further notice. Additionally, South Andros and the Berry Islands no longer have curfews.
New Providence: 23:00-05:00
Grand Bahama: 00:01-05:00
Cat Island: 22:00-05:00
North and Central Andros: 22:00-05:00
As part of newly relaxed measures, groups of up to 15 people are permitted on beaches and in parks on New Providence, Grand Bahama, mainland Abaco, Eleuthera (including Harbour Island), Great Exuma, and Little Exuma, regardless of vaccination status. Private gatherings and social events are permitted on said islands without capacity restrictions, assuming all guests are fully vaccinated; gatherings are also permitted for up to 20 unvaccinated individuals on Grand Bahama and other "First Schedule" islands as per the Bahamian government's classification system. Officials are also enforcing a number of additional health regulations for nonessential businesses (including restaurants) and religious establishments, often differing according to island.
Domestic Travel
Individuals must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result for inter-island travel between New Providence or Grand Bahama and other islands. However, those who are fully vaccinated are exempt from this requirement.
International Travel
International travel is permitted with a valid Travel Health Visa, although an entry ban for all vessels and persons arriving from Haiti remains in effect until at least July 11. Travelers unable to provide valid proof of having been fully vaccinated at least two weeks before entry must meet the following entry requirements:
Those over the age of 11 must present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than five days before travel and apply for a Travel Health Visa.
Those visiting the country for more than four nights must take a rapid COVID-19 antigen test on day five.
Proof of insurance covering COVID-19 treatment is required.
All measures are subject to amendment at short notice.
