Qatar: Doha Metro services to close every Friday July 9-Aug. 13 and during Eid holidays July 21-24

Qatari authorities announced that they would suspend Doha Metro services every Friday from July 9-Aug. 13, as well as during the Eid al-Adha holidays July 21-24, for system upgrades. The work will allow Doha Metro to increase its network capacity and provide more frequent services.

The disruptions will likely cause increased demand for alternative transport, including buses, taxis, and rental vehicles on affected days. Traffic will likely be heavier than usual as some commuters may resort to using personal vehicles rather than public transport.
