Event
Unionized activists affiliated with multiple organizations, including the Workers Interunion-National Convention of Workers (Plenario Intersindical de Trabajadores-Convencion Nacional de Trabajadores, PIT-CNT), plan to hold a nationwide 24-hour strike in Uruguay, and a protest in Montevideo, Sept. 15, to oppose the national government's economic policies. Multiple unions plan to join the strike, including those of education and government workers. Transport workers said they plan to join the protest in Montevideo, but will not suspend their operations nationwide.
Activists plan to rally outside the Legislative Palace, along Avenida de las Leyes, in Montevideo starting at 11:00.

Clashes are unlikely to occur, but cannot be ruled out. Limited services are likely in government offices, public schools and universities, and some healthcare centers. Emergency services are unlikely to be affected.
