Tajikistan maintaining COVID-19-related entry controls and domestic restrictions as of Nov. 29. Travel and business disruptions are likely.
Event
Authorities are maintaining measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 as of Nov. 29.
International Entry Restrictions
All arrivals, including fully vaccinated travelers, must present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival. All travelers must also take a second PCR test upon arrival. Individuals without proof of the initial negative test result must test on arrival and self-isolate for 3-14 days until the result is confirmed. Persons testing positive for COVID-19 must self-isolate until they have recovered. Individuals may be placed in a state-run quarantine facility at the discretion of officials.
Passenger flights are operating, including connections with China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan. Land borders with Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are closed, though some border crossings with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are open for freight vehicles. Entry from India is prohibited.
Domestic Restrictions
Nonessential businesses, including shopping centers, markets, and restaurants, are operating subject to social distancing mandates. Some hotels are closed due to low demand. Facemasks are mandatory in public places, including in vehicles and on public transport.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
