Nationwide internet disruptions are possible as of Dec. 28 due to deep-sea cable faults since Dec. 24. Officials stated that users might experience slow internet speed on fixed and mobile devices, especially during peak hours. Delays in ongoing restoration works may cause prolonged disruptions. However, outages are unlikely as alternative cables will ensure continued services.

Commercial disruptions are possible, especially if operations rely heavily on internet access. Communication and security systems dependent on internet connectivity may also be affected. Interruptions to online services provided by private and government entities, including app-based transport booking and food delivery, are possible. Processing delays may occur at the Brunei International Airport (BWN).
