Uruguay: Authorities maintain COVID-19-related restrictions as of Dec. 2 /update 28

Authorities in Uruguay continue to maintain the county's COVID-19-related restrictions as of Dec. 2. Under the regulations, all foreign nationals who enter the country must show that they completed their course of vaccine doses within nine months before departing for Uruguay. Persons who can show a positive RT-PCR test confirming they were infected with the disease no more than 90 and no fewer than 20 days prior to departure are exempt from the vaccine requirement, as are minors.

Additionally, all arriving passengers must present a negative result from a COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure for Uruguay. Individuals must take a second RT-PRC test seven days after their arrival.

Incoming travelers are also required to fill out a sworn affidavit about their health, vaccination status, and testing history no less than 48 hours prior to their departure.

Domestically, authorities maintain certain capacity limits for parties and large public events.

Authorities could further tighten, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on local disease activity. Targeted local measures could be enforced in some areas assessed to be high risk.
