Greenland: Authorities enforcing COVID-19 restrictions as of Feb. 5 /update 23

Greenland continuing to enforce COVID-19-related restrictions on domestic activity and international travel as of Feb. 5.

Warning

Event

As of Feb. 5, authorities in Greenland are continuing to enforce measures introduced to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Domestic Measures
Evidence of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 is required to access most nonessential businesses. A negative PCR test taken in the previous 48 hours may be used to enter shops, post offices, airports, waiting areas for public transportation, or service desks for public institutions should an individual be unvaccinated and not have proof of recovery. All establishments serving food or drink must close between 22:30 and 05:00 and all public places must operate at 50 percent capacity.

Proof of vaccination or recovery, or a negative PCR test, is also required for travel between regions or cities in Greenland; individuals unable to meet these requirements quarantine and take a COVID test on day five. If that test is negative, the individual will be considered uninfected. Persons who fail to take a test at day five must remain in the same location for at least 14 days before being allowed to travel to a different city. Facemasks are mandatory in all public spaces.

Additional local restrictions may vary by region; for details, click here.

International Entry Restrictions
Entry is permitted for vaccinated or recovered individuals; other travelers are only permitted to enter if they are residents. As of Feb. 4, travelers are no longer required to present a negative PCR test, provided they meet other entry requirements. Unvaccinated residents must quarantine for 14 days on arrival; quarantine can be ended on day five following a negative COVID-19 test.

Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
