Aguas Antofagasta will cut drinking supply water to parts of Antofagasta from 06:00 March 18 to allow for repairs following heavy rainfall. The disruptions will last for at least 24 hours. An estimated 46,000 customers in central and southern parts of the city will be affected. Aguas Antofagasta will deploy alternative water distribution points in the affected areas, which can be found here.

The water outages may lead to business disruptions, particularly for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water to maintain operations.

Conserve water during the outage. Stockpile water and use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Water quality after service resumes may be poor; run taps for several minutes before use.
