Members and supporters of the Mothers and Family Members of Uruguayans Arrested and Dissapeared (Madres y Familiares de Uruguayos Detenidos Desaparecidos) organization plan to march in Montevideo May 20. Activists intend to gather at the Plaza de los Desaparecidos en America, located at the intersection of Avenues Rivera and Jackson starting at 17:00, and from there march along Avenue 18 de Julio, to Plaza de la Libertad, also known as Plaza de Cagancha. The action is to demand justice for dozens of individuals who disappeared during the country's military dictatorship.

Thousands are likely to participate in the demonstration, which will likely create transport and business disruptions along its route. Security personnel will likely deploy to monitor the march. Violence is not likely.
