Argentina: Protesters disrupt transport throughout Tucuman province, June 21

Truck drivers affiliated with the Association of Freight Carriers of Tucuman (Asociacion de Transportadores de Cargas de Tucuman, ATC) have launched protests throughout Tucuman province, Argentina, June 21. The purpose of the action is to denounce rising fuel costs and shortages. The protest has led to traffic disruptions and blocked roads in multiple areas throughout the province, as protesters are preventing all cargo trucks from passing roadblocks.

While the action has remained largely peaceful, there will probably be an increased police presence near the gathering. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out, especially if security forces attempt to forcibly disperse crowds.
