UK: Activists plan Go-slow protests in central London, July 22

Activists representing the Fuel Price Stand Against Tax group have planned a go-slow protest in central London July 22. Slow-moving columns of vehicles will converge on Parliament Square from 12:00, with the intention of causing traffic congestion and travel delays. It is not known how long the protest will continue.

Significant road travel disruptions are likely and will persist for some time after the protests have concluded. Knock-on disruptions are likely to public transport, as some bus services will likely be diverted, delayed, or canceled, and localized tube services may become congested. Additional police will be deployed to monitor the action and to maintain public order. It is possible that Parliament Square will be pre-emptively closed to traffic with road diversions set up. The protest is likely to remain peaceful, but isolated clashes cannot be ruled out.
