Members and supporters of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community plan to hold a march in Ottawa, Ontario, Aug. 28 as part of the Capital Pride Parade events in the city. Activists plan to gather at the intersection of Kent and Somerset streets starting at 13:00. From there, they intend to march along Kent Street, cross on Laurier Street, and then proceed along Elgin Street and Gladstone Avenue. The march will end at the intersection of Gladstone Avenue and Bank Street.

Tens of thousands of people are likely to participate in the march, which will likely prompt transport and business disruptions in the area. Heightened security is also likely along the march route.
