Increased security is likely in parts of Mangaluru, Karnataka State, Sep. 2 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit. Modi will arrive in the morning of Sep. 2 to inaugurate several projects at the New Mangalore Port in the Panambur area. He will then address a mass political gathering at Goldfinch City event venue in Kulur before returning to New Delhi.
The prime minister will arrive at and depart from the Mangaluru International Airport (IXE). Security will be tight at IXE as Modi and his entourage transit the facility; heavy security will also be deployed near venues for the events he will attend. Police could close roads and set up temporary checkpoints to facilitate the movement of Modi's motorcade, potentially causing localized transport disruptions. Localized business disruptions are also possible.
