A magnitude-5.2 earthquake occurred in Abra Province in northern Luzon at around 16:19 Aug. 15. The epicenter was about 27 km (17 miles) north-northwest of Balbalan, Kalinga Province. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles), and moderate to strong shaking was probably felt throughout Abra Province while light shaking was probably felt throughout the rest of northern Luzon.
