Activists plan to hold a protest march from the Commission on Human Rights to University Avenue on the University of the Philippines Diliman campus in Manila 15:00 Sept. 21. Groups will hold a protest on the campus after the march. Participants intend to mark the 50th anniversary of the declaration of martial law as well as denounce the election of President Ferdinand Marcos. Several dozen to a few hundred people will likely attend the protest.

Authorities will likely monitor the protest and may try to disperse the gathering if it is especially disruptive. Clashes between protesters and police are possible. The protest will likely prompt localized transport disruptions.
