Mass Transit Railway (MTR) service disruptions are occurring between Tiu Keng Leng and Po Lam stations on the Tsueng Kwan O Line as of midday Dec. 5. Couplings connecting two compartments of a train traveling from Lohas Park station to Tseung Kwan O station reportedly malfunctioned at around 08:30. Crews are working to restore services but disruptions could continue in the coming hours. MTR is offering alternative shuttle services between the affected stations.
Officials have encouraged travelers to use alternative transport, and increased demand for other ground transport is likely. Localized traffic congestion is possible in affected neighborhoods until officials complete repairs and service normalizes.
