Warning

Event

Authorities suspend rail services between Oslo and Trondheim through at least Sept. 1 after the Randklev Bridge collapsed in Ringebu on Aug. 15. The collapse means that trains cannot move between Lillehammer and Dombas via the Dovre line, which also connects to the Rauma, Roros, and Nordlands lines. Rail authorities are unclear when the affected line will reopen but indicate altered train schedules. Those traveling between Oslo and Trondheim are instructed to take a train between Oslo and Lillehammer and a bus between Lillehammer and Trondheim.

Delays and cancellations are possible until the line is reopened. Route changes will stay in place until authorities give the all-clear.

Advice

Reconfirm all rail travel that runs through central Norway. Allow additional time if traveling through central Norway, particularly between Trondheim and Oslo.
