The blast occurred at approximately 15:30, blowing out at least two floors of the hotel. Firefighters have stated that the incident was likely a natural gas explosion. Emergency services reported receiving calls regarding gas odor immediately before the incident; however, authorities are still assessing the situation. Updated reports indicate at least 21 injuries; crews also located a person who was reported missing.

Increased security and localized business and transport disruptions are almost certain in the coming hours as emergency response and investigations continue.
