Yemen: US and UK airstrikes reported in several Al-Houthi-controlled areas overnight Jan. 11-12

US and UK airstrikes target several areas of Yemen, including Sana'a, Al Hudaydah, Dhamar, and Sa'dah, overnight Jan. 11-12.

Warning

The US and UK launched airstrikes against more than a dozen Al-Houthi targets in Yemen overnight Jan. 11-12. Targets included radar systems, as well as drone storage, ballistic missile storage, and cruise missile storage sites. Unconfirmed reports from Al-Houthi sources state that the strikes struck Sana'a, Al Hudaydah, Dhamar, and Sa'dah. There are no initial reports of casualties. The US says that the strikes were in response to multiple Al-Houthi attacks against commercial shipping in the Red Sea since the latest Israel-Hamas war began.

Al-Houthi rebels may launch retaliatory attacks over the coming hours and days. Additional airstrikes by the US and UK are also possible.

Heed the instructions of local security forces. If incoming fire is reported in the general vicinity, stay indoors, away from windows and exterior walls. If possible, move to a ground floor or basement. Maintain contact with your country's diplomatic mission.
