Anti-fascists in Spain to protest in Madrid, Zaragoza, and Huesca, Feb. 12. Possible disruptions.

Informational

Anti-fascist groups are planning to protest in three cities in Spain on Feb. 12 to demand the liberation of the "Zaragoza six," a group of anti-fascists who were arrested following a demonstration against a far-right event in January 2019. Protests are planned at the following locations:

  • Huesca: Plaza Zaragoza (Plaza de Navarra) from 20:00

  • Madrid: Plaza de las Cortes from 18:00

  • Zaragoza: Plzaza de Espana from 20:00

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near affected areas. Isolated skirmishes between demonstrators and police cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the protests. Allow additional time if traveling near the affected areas. Heed all instructions from authorities. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
