Brazil: Activists plan demonstration in Sao Paulo on May 15

Pro-Palestinian activists plan to demonstrate in Sao Paulo on May 15 in solidarity with the ongoing developments in the Middle East. Participants will gather from 17:30 outside the Museum of Art of Sao Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo Assis Chateaubriand, MASP) on Avenida Paulista. The amount of participants the event may draw remains unclear; however, large crowds are expected.

Localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the area, especially along Avenida Paulista. Authorities will likely deploy an increased police presence to monitor gatherings. The demonstration will likely pass peacefully; however, skirmishes and counterprotests cannot be ruled out.
