Sao Paulo transport workers affiliated with the Sao Paulo Subway Workers' Union (Sindicato dos Metroviarios e Metroviarias de Sao Paulo) have suspended their strike planned for May 22. While no agreement has been reached regarding the workers' labor-related demands, the union has agreed to continue negotiating until early June. The strike on May 22 was intended to shut down Lines 1 (Blue), 2 (Green), 3 (Red), and 15 (Silver).

New calls for a nationwide strike remain possible in the coming weeks, especially if no agreements are reached by early June. Minor disruptions on Lines 1 (Blue), 2 (Green), 3 (Red), and 15 (Silver) remain possible early May 22.
