Emergency services are responding to the aftermath of airstrikes targeting several areas of Ukraine on the morning of July 8. At least 40 missiles of various types reportedly hit the cities of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Kyiv.

In Kyiv, preliminary reports indicate that at least ten explosions occurred in the city, including in the Solomyanskyy, Holosiivskyy, Dniprovskyy, Darnitskyy, and Desnyanskyy districts. Several residential and commercial buildings, including the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, were reportedly damaged. Local authorities report that at least seven people have been killed and 25 injured. In Kryvyi Rih, an undisclosed industrial facility was hit. At least 10 deaths and 31 injuries were reported. In Dnipro, a high-rise residential building and nearby vehicles were reportedly targeted. Emergency services have not yet confirmed the number of injuries in the area. Updated casualty figures are likely over the coming hours.

Increased security is likely near the damaged areas as emergency services continue to respond to the strikes. Localized transport and road travel disruptions are likely near the affected areas, and further strikes might occur.

Avoid the impacted areas through July 8. Exercise extreme caution if operating in Ukraine. Download the Air Alert mobile application to receive an air-alert notification from the Civil Defense System in your chosen city or region of Ukraine. You should shelter in place if there is fighting or airstrikes in the area. Stay away from windows and exterior walls if officials report incoming rocket or artillery fire. Follow the instructions of local security personnel, especially when instructed to seek refuge in air-raid shelters. Maintain contact with diplomatic representations.
